Schedule:
- Monday: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Includes weekends and holidays
Job Type: Contract
Pay Range: $2,000 – $2,450/week
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a qualified Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) to provide social work services in an Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department setting. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting patients and families through complex medical situations, discharge planning, goals-of-care discussions, and end-of-life planning.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for adult and pediatric patients.
- Provide supportive therapy and crisis intervention as appropriate.
- Assist patients and families with complex psychosocial and emotional needs.
- Participate in goals-of-care discussions and end-of-life planning.
- Provide support during difficult medical diagnoses and transitions in care.
- Assist with discharge planning and coordination of appropriate resources.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide social work support to patients and families in the Emergency Department.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Connect patients and families with appropriate community and healthcare resources.
- Perform other related social work duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 year of LMSW experience required.
- Experience in inpatient hospital social work .
- Experience with discharge planning .
- Experience with goals-of-care discussions and end-of-life planning .
- Oncology experience preferred/required based on clinical needs.
- Strong assessment, communication, crisis intervention, and care coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both adult and pediatric patient populations.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
- Valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license issued by NYSED – Required.
