Key Responsibilities

• Respond to trauma alerts promptly, conducting initial assessments of patients' conditions to formulate immediate care plans.
• Stabilize critically injured patients and provide quick medical interventions to prevent further health deterioration.
• Assist in emergency resuscitation efforts, engaging in life-saving procedures and interventions as required.
• Coordinate high-quality inter-professional care for trauma patients through effective communication with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and analyze diagnostic imaging results to inform treatment decisions.
• Administer medications and care as per the orders of attending physicians, ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Assist with invasive procedures and manage wounds under the supervision of licensed medical practitioners.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma care, recovery processes, and preventive strategies to enhance post-treatment outcomes.
• Facilitate the transfer of trauma patients to specialized units or facilities when necessary, ensuring that all pertinent medical information is communicated.
• Monitor patients’ pain levels and implement effective pain management strategies.
• Follow stringent infection control and safety protocols to uphold the highest standards of care within the trauma setting.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our department primarily focuses on managing critically injured patients from various backgrounds and age groups. You will engage with a diverse mix of trauma cases ranging from orthopedic injuries to complex multi-system traumas. This role not only requires clinical expertise but also the ability to provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families during difficult times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, coupled with completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant to practice in New York.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Demonstrated ability to conduct trauma assessments and implement stabilization protocols effectively.
• Exceptional clinical and diagnostic skills, particularly in high-pressure trauma settings.
• Willingness to collaborate extensively with other healthcare professionals to assure the continuity of care.
• Commitment to patient advocacy and providing high-quality, empathetic medical care.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience in emergency medicine or trauma care is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma-specific medications and treatment protocols.
• Capacity to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing clinical situations and urgent patient needs;
• Physical fitness and agility necessary for effective patient care and transport.
• Bilingual skills are considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 – 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
