As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.Job responsibilitiesExecutes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsWork directly with Lines of Business to understand and address their needs and challenges within the compute space within a low-latency Electronic Trading environmentDirect the strategies for server hardware platform, server/OS tuning and automation, and infrastructure application lifecycleDesign Authority for the compute infrastructure application stack, including build and configuration management, and log/metric aggregationInterface with hardware and software vendors on product roadmaps and to establish the next generation of Electronic Trading Platform infrastructureDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills7 years experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityUnderstanding of IPv4 networking, including OSI model, unicast/broadcast/multicast, routing, and network segregation mechanismsAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experiencePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsUnderstanding of IPv4 networking, including OSI model, unicast/broadcast/multicast, routing, and network segregation mechanismsExtensive experience with Configuration Management, preferably Chef or Ansible JPMorganChase, one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world’s most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
