Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for children and adolescents, identifying their unique challenges and therapeutic needs.

• Develop and implement individualized, culturally-sensitive treatment plans that account for the developmental stages of young patients and involve family dynamics.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to effectively address conditions like anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers in their approach to supporting the mental health of their children.

• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure an integrated approach to treatment.

• Provide crisis intervention for children and adolescents in distress, equipping them with coping strategies and immediate support.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, available treatments, and community resources for ongoing support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Actively engage in continuous professional development and stay updated on advances in child and adolescent mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position primarily serves children and adolescents grappling with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depressive patterns, ADHD, and behavioral challenges. Your work will heavily involve family engagement, ensuring caregivers are active participants in their child’s therapeutic journey, fostering a supportive atmosphere for long-term improvement.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State is mandatory.

• Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n
