This full-time position is primarily remote, allowing flexibility while also serving patients through both telehealth and in-person sessions in West Hempstead, New York. You will play a vital role in facilitating trauma-informed care and helping patients navigate their paths to recovery and resilience.

We offer flexible scheduling options, with our hours extending from 7 AM to 10 PM, seven days a week, enabling you to meet the varied needs of your patients while maintaining your personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma histories, identifying the most effective treatment approaches tailored to their individual circumstances.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at facilitating trauma recovery and building resilience among patients.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address complex trauma-related issues.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on processing traumatic experiences, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and promoting healing within the patient population.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure integrated, holistic care for all patients.
\n
• Offer crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, helping patients regain a sense of stability.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping methods, empowering them with resources for ongoing support.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
\n
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to further enhance trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to ensure the highest level of care for our clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will work with a diverse group of patients, primarily focusing on individuals who have experienced trauma, stress, and anxiety. This role is critical in providing compassionate care and evidence-based therapies that address the unique challenges faced by patients dealing with direct or secondary trauma. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York.

• 2+ years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling preferred.

• In-depth understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.

• The ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations, demonstrating emotional resilience.

• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

• Capable of collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience delivering trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR and TF-CBT, is highly desirable.

• Previous experience with couple’s therapy is beneficial, and we provide training for those willing to expand their skill set in this area.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position ranges from $70,000 to $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, we offer:
