Staff Accountant

Job Description
About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant for one of our clients. This role is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional with 3-4 years of experience who enjoys a mix of general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while supporting day-to-day accounting operations and month-end processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking
  • Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collections as needed
  • Help ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and procedures
  • Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments and external vendors
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 3-4 years of accounting experience required
  • Experience with AP/AR processes and general accounting functions
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a mid-sized or growing company environment
  • ERP experience such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems
  • CPA or CPA-track is a plus, but not required
