High visibility role reporting directly to ownership Opportunity to build, improve, and scale accounting operations Stable business with consistent project flow and long-term contracts Hands-on environment where your expertise directly drives profitability and compliance Ability to step into a critical need role with immediate impact Tight-knit team culture with strong tenure and institutional knowledge Competitive salary and benefits Job Details Responsibilities Lead all core accounting functions: GL, month-end close, and financial reporting Oversee project-based accounting across multiple contracts Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and cost allowability standards Manage indirect rates (fringe, overhead, G&A) and maintain accurate cost pools Support contract structures including: Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) – cost control, inventory/BOM accuracy, margin management Cost-Plus – strict cost tracking and regulatory compliance Partner closely with operations on manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, and BOM oversight Evaluate and improve internal controls, processes, and reporting accuracy Help scale and mentor a small, growing accounting team Qualifications Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance (CPA a plus) 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership Background in engineering and/or manufacturing environments Strong experience in government contracting (GovCon) Proven expertise in project accounting and cost accounting Experience supporting FFP and/or Cost-Plus contract structures Comfortable in a hands-on, build-out environment Systems Deltek Costpoint (highly preferred) Strong ERP experience required Equal Opportunity Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
