Litigation Legal Assistant

Legal Assistant | Insurance Defense / Medical Malpractice A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy insurance defense and medical malpractice practice. This role offers flexibility with compensation ($65,000–$85,000). This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation setting and enjoys managing cases from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Draft, format, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents Transcribe dictation and prepare accurate, finalized work product File legal documents with courts and ensure compliance with all filing requirements Coordinate service of documents via USPS, FedEx, and courier Open new matters, conduct conflict checks, and assist with engagement letters Maintain organized case files, indexes, and case tracking systems Manage attorney calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trials Enter and review attorney time and assist with billing processes Schedule depositions and coordinate case logistics Prepare files for hearings, depositions, and trial Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff as needed Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience Background in insurance defense and/or medical malpractice preferred Strong knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation workflows Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and legal correspondence Excellent organizational, proofreading, and multitasking skills Typing speed of 70+ WPM with strong technical proficiency High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required Why Consider This Opportunity Competitive salary range of $65K to $85K Stable, team-oriented environment with strong administrative support If you are an experienced legal assistant looking for your next move, apply today! #J-18808-Ljbffr
