Job Title

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Days | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts (36 hrs/week) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a progressive care/stepdown setting with a focus on cardiac diagnoses including CHF, dysrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, cardiogenic shock, coronary artery disease, and chest pain
• Manage and monitor vasoactive drip therapies including Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin drips
• Perform and manage peritoneal dialysis for appropriate patient populations
• Care for patients undergoing or recovering from cardiac procedures such as angioplasty, LVAD placement, and heart transplant
• Accurately identify and respond to cardiac rhythm abnormalities; candidates will be required to pass a proctored rhythm identification test upon start

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 18 months of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown specialty experience within the past 3 years
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis
• Experience managing insulin drips
• Proficiency with vasoactive medications and cardiac monitoring
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility (no local travelers)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for LVAD or heart transplant patients
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Familiarity with Med-Surg cardiac patient populations
