Job Title: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS, AHA Certifications only Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - Proficient in IV start - Experience with telemetry - Competency with ventilators Description: We are seeking a dedicated Medical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse. The position involves caring for critically ill patients with various medical conditions. Estimated patient ratios are 1:1-2. The candidate must be skilled in the management of patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, diabetic ketoacidosis, liver failure, and renal failure. Additional specialized procedures in this unit include continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and the use of externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients. Knowledge of specialized equipment such as NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV Pump, GE Cardiac Monitor, and GE Ventilator is essential. The role requires the ability to manage ventilated patients and interpret dysrhythmias effectively. Candidates should have experience in the care of patients requiring continuous IV sedation. Travel nursing experience is preferred. Proficiency in EPIC documentation is important for this role.
