Step into a rewarding contract assignment supporting students with complex medical needs as a school nurse for the 2026-2027 academic year near Boston, MA. You’ll make a vital difference each morning by ensuring a safe, caring ride to school for a group of exceptional students ranging from 3 to 21 years old, each with unique healthcare needs.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license required
• At least one year of relevant nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric or school setting
• Confidence and skill in monitoring and supporting students with g-tubes, seizure disorders, and oxygen requirements
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies (experience with Valtoco, EpiPens, suctioning, and oxygen administration a plus)
• Excellent communication and observation skills
• Compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting students with special needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Accompany students on the morning school bus route, beginning at 6:15 AM from the Virginia Barton Education Center, concluding around 7:45 AM each day
• Closely monitor student health conditions, medication needs (including PRN Valtoco), and emergency protocols during transit
• Provide hands-on support with equipment such as g-tubes, oxygen saturation monitors, wheelchairs, and suctioning devices as needed
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students under your care
• Maintain thorough, confidential documentation and communicate any concerns to the appropriate school staff

In this role, you’ll be the trusted healthcare presence each morning—ensuring students are ready and able to learn, right from the moment they board the bus.
