Structural Steel Layout Fitter/FabricatorJoin a growing structural steel fabrication team responsible for fitting, fabricating, and welding structural steel components. This hands-on role requires blueprint reading, layout fitting, flux-core welding, overhead crane operation, and working with large steel assemblies while maintaining high quality and safety standards.Pay: $24-$30/hr based on experienceSchedule1st Shift and 2nd Shift AvailableMonday-Friday5:00 AM - 2:30 PM2:30 PM - 10:30 PMSome Saturdays as neededWhat You'll DoLay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components from blueprintsRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbolsPerform structural steel welding (Flux-Core/FCAW)Operate overhead cranes to move and position materialsUse cutting and heating torches for steel modifications and heat correctionsCheck beam camber and sweep tolerances and make adjustments as neededSet up jigs and fixtures for fabrication and welding projectsMaintain quality standards and inspect finished workKeep work areas clean, organized, and safeSupport daily production needs within the structural departmentRequired QualificationsStructural steel fitting and layout experienceFlux-core welding experience on structural steelAbility to read blueprints and weld symbolsExperience operating overhead cranesKnowledge of beam layout, fit-up, and structural assembliesExperience using cutting and heating torchesStrong attention to detail and workmanshipAbility to work safely in a heavy industrial environmentAbility to handle and work around large steel componentsPreferred QualificationsExperience checking camber and sweep tolerancesExperience setting up complex jigs and assembliesOwnership of basic fitting and welding toolsStrong safety awareness and work ethicReliable attendance and team-oriented attitudeWork EnvironmentStructural steel fabrication shopLoud, heavy industrial settingDedicated welding stationOverhead cranes operating throughout the facilitySteel-toe boots and safety glasses requiredEmployees provide their own basic toolsBenefitsStable workload supported by long-term contractsStrong job security and growth opportunitiesPTO Program:1 week after 3 months2 weeks after 6 monthsAdditional PTO with tenure (up to 3 weeks)401(k) with excellent company match:100% match on first 3%50% match on next 2%Up to 4% company contributionJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
