We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio on a Contract basis. This role will oversee core accounting operations, strengthen the accuracy of financial reporting, and support a disciplined month-end close process. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger management, and the preparation of financial statements, along with a practical approach to improving accounting workflows.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate accounting results.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages and formal financial statements for leadership review.
• Perform and oversee detailed balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and maintaining strong account integrity.
• Manage general ledger activity and verify that transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Support audit readiness by organizing schedules, documentation, and supporting analysis for external review.
• Identify and implement improvements that streamline month-end reporting and account reconciliation processes.
• Provide accounting guidance and hands-on support related to financial controls, reporting accuracy, and close procedures.
• Contribute to work associated with the Sage Intacct environment as needed to support accounting operations and reporting effectiveness.• Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior-level accounting leadership role.
• Strong background in financial reporting, including preparation of reporting packages and financial statements.
• Advanced knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger oversight.
• Demonstrated success managing month-end close activities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience supporting audit preparation and coordinating required documentation.
• Track record of improving accounting processes and reporting workflows.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
