Key Qualifications:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification, with credentials valid in Illinois
• Experience working with students in early elementary grades, preferably in a life skills or self-contained environment
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional techniques
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to foster productive relationships with colleagues, students, and families
• Compassion, patience, and adaptability to respond to changing classroom dynamics and student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students in a K-2 self-contained life skills setting
• Develop and implement IEPs, tracking goals and documenting progress for each student
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to create a supportive learning environment
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and assistive technology as appropriate
• Contribute to classroom management and a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages independence and growth
