Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our Surgical Center, you will work onsite, collaborating closely with surgeons, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This role involves direct patient interactions in an outpatient setting, focusing on delivering comprehensive surgical care that meets the unique needs of each patient. Key Responsibilities

• Patient Evaluation and Treatment: Conduct thorough medical assessments and develop treatment plans for patients, utilizing your strong diagnostic skills to ensure effective care delivery.
• Discharge Planning: Work alongside case management teams to coordinate smooth discharge processes for patients, facilitating continuity of care post-surgery.
• Quality Improvement: Engage in initiatives focused on enhancing cost-effectiveness and quality of care. Contribute insights and recommendations based on patient needs and outcomes.
• Consultation Services: Accept referrals from physicians, acting as a consulting physician for hospitalized patients with primary medical conditions. Assess and respond to the diverse needs of patients and healthcare staff.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records and documentation that comply with insurance requirements; proactively manage appeals for denied claims as needed.
• Collaboration: Participate in both inpatient and outpatient consultations, potentially including on-call responsibilities to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will engage with a variety of patient demographics seeking surgical care. Your responsibilities will involve assessing patients with diverse backgrounds and medical conditions, ensuring that everyone receives personalized and culturally competent care. You will be instrumental in addressing the unique needs of each individual, thereby contributing to their overall health journey.

Qualifications

• Currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited university.
• A valid Physician Assistant license (PA-C) issued by the state of New York is required.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork within a performance-driven healthcare environment.
• Possession of a DEA number.
• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a surgical or outpatient setting is highly desirable.
• Previous involvement in quality improvement initiatives or case management will be beneficial in this role.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation processes.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing our ability to serve diverse patient populations.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
