Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art surgical center in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. The clinic features modern surgical facilities and is equipped with the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies. Our committed team works in a supportive atmosphere that encourages collaborative practice and continuous learning. Operating hours are primarily Monday through Thursday, from 9 AM to 7 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth patient assessments, including detailed history-taking, comprehensive physical examinations, and precise diagnostic evaluations in relation to eye care.
• Order and interpret lab results, imaging studies, and a range of diagnostic tests to inform effective treatment plans.
• Collaborate with supervising physicians to develop and implement personalized treatment strategies, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.
• Perform a variety of procedures within the scope of practice, such as suturing, cataract evaluations, and other minor surgical interventions.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of clinical encounters, patient progress, and treatment outcomes in our advanced electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Provide education and counseling to patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and strategies for post-operative recovery.
• Engage in daily rounds and case discussions, contributing to multidisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay updated with ongoing changes in medical practice by maintaining active licensure, board certification, and participating in relevant continuing education.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant at Eye-Deal Vision Clinic, you will primarily focus on patients with various ocular conditions, providing care to individuals of all ages. The emphasis on surgical eye care means you will encounter cases ranging from routine eye exams to complex visual impairments requiring surgical intervention. Your contributions will directly impact patients' quality of life by enhancing their visual acuity and overall eye health.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program specific to the healthcare field.
• Current and valid Physician Assistant license to practice in New Jersey.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• DEA registration with prescriptive authority within New Jersey jurisdiction.
• Strong diagnostic skills, as well as procedural and clinical decision-making capabilities.
• Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Epic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a strong ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in a hospital, urgent care, or specialty eye care setting is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage patient care in high-volume and fast-paced environments.
• Experience in performing ocular examinations and minor procedures related to ophthalmologic care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from $115,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, our benefits package includes:
