Work Environment

This is an onsite position located within a well-equipped hospital environment in Woodbridge, ensuring access to the necessary resources for effective patient management. The setting is dynamic and fast-paced, requiring adaptability and effective communication within a team of healthcare providers. The working schedule is Monday through Friday, offering a balanced work-life routine, with hours set at 40 per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and review patient medical histories to identify health concerns associated with pain management.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and X-rays, to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
• Diagnose various health conditions, focusing on both acute and chronic pain syndromes.
• Develop and propose treatment protocols for managing chronic and infectious diseases, ensuring individualized care plans.
• Prescribe medications as part of comprehensive pain management strategies based on evidence-based guidelines.
• Maintain accurate health records and manage patient schedules to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Provide thorough patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications to enhance recovery and improve quality of life.
• Advocate for and promote good health practices among patients and their families, fostering an environment of preventive care.
• Engage in ongoing professional development, contributing to the enhancement of knowledge and clinical expertise through research and collaboration.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Pain Management Physician Assistant will work closely with patients suffering from a variety of pain-related ailments, ranging from acute injuries to chronic degenerative conditions. This role requires a compassionate approach, as the PA will be on the front lines of managing patients’ physical and emotional well-being, ultimately supporting them in their journey toward pain relief and improved functional capacity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Valid and active New Jersey State Physician Assistant license, with PA-C designation.
• Must possess a DEA number.
• Strong communication skills, with a focus on empathetic patient interaction.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
