Pain Management Nurse Practitioner - Full-Time Onsite Role

Healtherapy Physiotherapy Centre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pain Management Nurse Practitioner to join our onsite team in Edison, New Jersey. Work Environment

This position is based at an Assisted Living Facility, providing a unique setting where healthcare professionals can interact closely with residents who often experience chronic pain conditions, such as lower back pain, osteoarthritis, and knee pain. You will work a structured schedule, primarily Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with three days in the office and two days dedicated to our surgical center. Occasional weekend shifts may be required for emergency cases, ensuring that our patients receive timely interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed patient assessments to accurately diagnose the source and intensity of pain.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may involve medication management, interventional procedures, and alternative therapies.
• Perform advanced pain management techniques including but not limited to joint injections, nerve blocks, and epidural steroid injections for lumbar, cervical, and thoracic pain.
• Collaborate with mid-level providers (PAs & NPs) and other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists and psychologists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment protocols based on the effectiveness of interventions.
• Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, treatment options, potential side effects, and self-care techniques.
• Stay updated on the latest pain management research, integrating evidence-based practices into the treatment approach.
• Maintain precise and compliant medical records in accordance with healthcare regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily includes residents of the assisted living facility who may be experiencing various levels of chronic pain. Common conditions treated include osteoarthritis, chronic lower back pain, and knee pain. The diverse needs of our patients require a compassionate approach, focusing on enhancing their quality of life through specialized pain relief strategies.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine (MD or DO) is required.
• Board certification in Pain Management or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is highly preferred, or equivalently, being a Fellowship Trained Anesthesiologist.
• A current and unrestricted medical license to practice in New Jersey is mandatory.
• Possession of a DEA number and no recent malpractice history.
• Strong foundation in diagnosing and treating various pain conditions with a proven track record.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex medical information understandably.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong focus on patient outcomes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing patient records.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience working in pain management or a related field.
• Familiarity with advanced pain management techniques such as EMGs/NCVs is a plus.
• Experience working within an assisted living or rehabilitation setting is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
