Work Environment

This position is located onsite at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in Edison, where you will operate in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The work schedule consists of Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour workday, allowing for a balanced professional lifestyle. Our facilities are equipped with advanced technologies and resources, ensuring you have everything needed to provide top-tier care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pain Management Physician Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering advanced practitioner care under the supervision of orthopedic specialists, ensuring comprehensive treatment plans for orthopedic patients.
• Conducting thorough examinations and accurate diagnoses, interpreting radiology reports and lab results to inform treatment decisions.
• Performing patient assessments, taking detailed histories, prescribing medications, and ordering necessary therapies.
• Providing surgical assistance as required, ensuring proactive and efficient patient management from pre-procedural care to post-procedure follow-up.
• Managing care across various settings, including inpatient services, consultations, and outpatient clinics.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be on patients who are experiencing pain and other orthopedic issues, ranging from acute injuries to chronic conditions. You will be responsible for developing individualized care strategies that address their specific needs, aiding in recovery and enhancing their overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) and national certification.
• DEA certification obtained within three months of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain effective interactions with patients and healthcare teams.
• Self-direction, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Capability to manage stress within the team and provide empathetic support to patients and colleagues.
• Ability to fulfil hospital credentialing and billing requirements as a billable provider.
• Physical capability to manage the demands of the role, including lifting items up to 25 pounds and the ability to see well enough to read specialized medical instruments.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime and to adapt to flexible hours as required.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of recent clinical experience in orthopedic specialty care, with a focus on pain management.
• Experience in wound care and managing urgent referrals from community practices.
• Fellowship training dedicated to pain management or orthopedic procedures is highly regarded.
• Ability and willingness to assist in surgical operations, performing tasks under the supervision of orthopedic consultants.

Compensation and Benefits
