Parkland Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our team in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant in our hospital-based outpatient practice, you will work on-site in a supportive and dynamic environment. You will engage in teamwork with seasoned healthcare professionals dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes. The typical work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with flexible hours extending until 5:00 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and collect in-depth patient histories.
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies, to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose patients with pain-related illnesses and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications and administer therapeutic injections, where appropriate, while maintaining stringent safety guidelines.
• Document and manage patient records accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
• Encourage healthy lifestyle changes through educational initiatives and support systems.
• Collaborate closely with medical doctors and nurse practitioners to deliver the best possible care to patients.
• Participate in continuing education and research activities to stay updated on advancements in pain management.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with adult patients experiencing a range of pain-related conditions, including but not limited to arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain, and post-surgical complications. Our focus is to provide compassionate and comprehensive care that addresses both physical symptoms and psychosocial factors impacting patient well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current and valid Physician Assistant license in New Jersey (PA-C) along with an active DEA number.
• Experience in physician assistant practices, particularly within primary care or pain management, is highly desirable.
• Proficient in interpreting diagnostic tests and understanding relevant health regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• A strong ethical framework and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a clinical setting, such as an outpatient clinic, hospital, or emergency department.
• Expertise in acute care and chronic disease management techniques.
• Bilingual proficiency is a plus but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
