Healtherapy Physiotherapy Centre is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner specializing in Pain Management to join our dynamic team in Newark, New Jersey. In this full-time, onsite role, you will play a critical part in enhancing patient quality of life by developing and implementing effective pain management strategies. Your clinical expertise will have a direct impact on patient outcomes as you work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting, ensuring comprehensive and coordinated care for those suffering from chronic pain.

Work Environment

The Nurse Practitioner will work primarily in a hospital setting, with a mix of responsibilities at our surgical center. You will be part of an inviting and supportive team environment where your insights are valued, and teamwork is prioritized. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including a combination of three days in-office and two days in our surgical center. There may be occasional weekend shifts for emergency cases, providing varied responsibilities and opportunities to engage with patients during critical times.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments to evaluate pain levels and underlying conditions, using evidence-based tools for accurate diagnosis.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the complex, multidimensional aspects of pain, including physical, emotional, and social factors.
• Administer a range of pain management techniques, including medication management, interventional procedures, and non-invasive alternative therapies.
• Perform interventional procedures such as joint injections, nerve blocks, and various types of epidurals (lumbar, cervical, thoracic). Experience with PRP injections and stem cell injections is highly desirable.
• Provide initial evaluations and referrals for physical therapy, collaborating closely with mid-level providers (PAs & NPs) to ensure continuity of care.
• Engage with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, psychologists, and pharmacists, to create comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Monitor and document patient progress throughout the treatment lifecycle, adjusting plans based on feedback and clinical developments.
• Educate patients on various pain management strategies, treatment options, potential side effects, and self-care techniques to empower them in their healing journey.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in pain management research and integrate evidence-based practices into your treatment strategies.
• Maintain meticulous and up-to-date medical records while adhering to all relevant legal and regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

At Healtherapy, our patient population primarily consists of individuals dealing with chronic pain conditions such as lower back pain, knee pain, and osteoarthritis. Our commitment to understanding each patient's unique experiences allows us to offer personalized care that addresses their specific needs. Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine (MD or DO) is required.
• Board certification in Pain Management or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation is essential.
• Training as a Pain Management Fellowship Trained Anesthesiologist is considered an asset.
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in New Jersey is a must.
• No recent malpractice history; must hold a valid DEA number.
• Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and treating a range of pain conditions.
• Substantial knowledge of pain management techniques and a commitment to employing a multidisciplinary approach.
• Exemplary communication skills for clearly articulating complex medical information to patients and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A compassionate approach to patient care, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred Experience

While a significant depth of experience in pain management is desirable, we recognize and appreciate the potential of recent graduates who possess strong clinical skills and a proactive learning attitude. Experience performing EMGs/NCVs will be viewed favorably but is not a strict requirement.

Compensation and Benefits
