Work Environment

This role is performed in an onsite home care setting, where practitioners are equipped to provide comprehensive healthcare services tailored to the needs of each child. As part of our team, you will work closely with a network of medical professionals committed to delivering state-of-the-art care and ensuring that pediatric patients receive the necessary support and treatment in a comfortable and nurturing environment. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for evenings and weekends free to enjoy personal time.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and care for patients from birth to young adulthood, utilizing in-depth knowledge of pediatric health care and current best practices in clinical guidelines.
• Conduct routine health maintenance examinations, develop individualized patient management plans, and maintain accurate medical records of each patient's medical history and progress.
• Perform therapeutic procedures including but not limited to immunizations, suture removal, wound care, and other routine procedures necessary for the management of pediatric conditions.
• Provide patient and family education regarding compliance with prescribed treatments, growth and development milestones, family planning options, and methods to enhance overall health maintenance.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assure continuity of care and facilitate referrals for specialized services as appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care delivery and improving patient outcomes through the implementation of effective care models.
• Stay informed of the latest advancements in pediatric medicine and participate in training and development opportunities to maintain licensure and certification standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice focuses on providing individualized care for a wide range of pediatric patients, from newborns to young adults. We address both physical and emotional health concerns, including developmental, behavioral, and acute health issues. The ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families is paramount, as is the ability to build trusting relationships that facilitate better health outcomes.

Qualifications

• A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas.
• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, resulting in either a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner through recognized organizations such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center or Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience providing care in a pediatric setting.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred for applicants interested in inpatient settings.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Effective communication abilities, particularly in conveying health information to patients and families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a pediatric practice with demonstrated expertise in managing common pediatric health issues.
• Involvement in quality improvement projects within a clinical setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for accurate and efficient patient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits
