People Operations Manager

We’re partnering with a fast-growing AI company transforming the way life sciences organizations commercialize therapeutics. Backed by leading investors and working with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, the business is building cutting-edge AI applications that enable pharmaceutical marketers to launch campaigns at unprecedented speed and scale.
The team is scaling rapidly and looking for a People Operations Manager to become the operational backbone of the company. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-growth startup at an exciting stage and play a central role in shaping both the employee experience and day-to-day business operations.
This position combines People Operations, Office Management, and Executive Support in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in an in-person startup culture.
Location: New York City (5 days in-office)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 9am–7pm | Friday 9am–5pm
Responsibilities
People Operations & HR
- Maintain and evolve the employee handbook, policies, and people processes
- Manage onboarding and ensure new hires have a seamless day-one experience
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and development support
- Coordinate and manage performance review cycles and manager compliance
- Support employee engagement, retention initiatives, and company culture programs
- Lead planning and execution of the annual company retreat and internal events
Office Operations & Executive Support
- Oversee daily operations of the NYC office, including facilities, vendors, supplies, and workplace experience
- Manage complex scheduling and calendaring for the executive team across multiple time zones
- Provide administrative support including travel coordination, expense management, and research tasks
- Coordinate team meetings, offsites, and company events from planning through execution
- Manage onboarding logistics including workspace setup and equipment coordination
- Partner with finance and legal teams on contracts, invoices, and operational spend
- Identify operational inefficiencies and proactively implement scalable solutions
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience across HR, People Operations, Executive Assistant, and/or Office Management functions
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build trust and work effectively across all levels of the organization
- Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate problems and solve them independently
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
- Enthusiastic about being in-office and contributing to a strong team culture
