Full-Time SALT Patisserie is looking for an experienced, passionate, and highly motivated Pastry Sous Chef to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is not only a strong pastry cook, but also a leader. Someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized in a fast-paced environment, and can help lead our pastry team while maintaining the quality and consistency SALT is known for. Responsibilities
- Assist Pastry Chef with daily pastry and bakery production
- Help lead, train, and support the pastry team
- Oversee production and ensure items are completed correctly and on schedule
- Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all products
- Work hands-on with laminated doughs, viennoiseries, cakes, creams, breads, fillings, and other pastry production
- Help organize daily prep and production lists
- Monitor inventory and communicate ingredient and production needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Help enforce recipes, procedures, food safety, and SALT standards
- Troubleshoot production issues and help keep the kitchen running smoothly
- Professional pastry or bakery experience required
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of pastry techniques and production
- Viennoiserie and laminated dough experience is a plus
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to lead by example
- Positive attitude and willingness to teach and develop others
- Someone who genuinely cares about quality and consistency
