Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Centered Living Counseling Services, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews that assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional states.

• Documenting client cases meticulously from the first consultation through to the conclusion of treatment, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
\n
• Developing individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices that address the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitating engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic modalities that foster client growth and resilience.
\n
• Continuously monitoring and documenting client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
\n
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to integrate holistic care approaches for clients.
\n
• Following up with healthcare professionals regarding clients who may require hospitalization to provide consistent support.
\n
• Identifying potential setbacks and implementing preventative strategies to support the recovery journey for each client.

• Providing guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers dealing with challenges related to mental health.

Qualifications\n

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A successful passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Proven experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating a strong understanding of therapeutic practices and client care best practices.
\n
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to track patient information and treatment progress.
\n
• Awareness of various physical and emotional health conditions, including addiction disorders, and familiarity with best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills that articulate empathetic understanding and professionalism.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to connect with clients and colleagues alike, showcasing your sympathetic nature.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with previous experience handling complex cases, particularly in virtual counseling environments, will be given preference. Additional insights into managing dual diagnoses and trauma-informed care will also be beneficial in this role.
