Postdoctoral Research Associate AD (Ellestad) Department: CAES-Poultry Science, University of Georgia Position type: Employee (Full-time) Estimated start date: 06/01/2026 Duties and Responsibilities Perform laboratory work and live animal trials (approximately 50% of time). Collect, analyze, present, and interpret data (25%). Prepare manuscripts, grant applications, and scientific conference presentations (25%). Position Summary A postdoctoral research position to study physiological effects of enteric diseases, including regulation of growth, metabolism, and nutrient utilization. Responsibilities include conducting whole animal and cellular/molecular studies, coordinating sample collection and analysis, performing statistical analysis, presenting results at scientific meetings, publishing in journals, reading literature, writing manuscripts, assisting grant proposals, and supervising students. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in poultry or animal sciences, physiology, immunology, or a related field. Experience studying enteric diseases. Good written and oral communication skills and fluency in English. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with poultry and enteric disease challenges. Laboratory skills: molecular & cellular techniques, hormone/metabolite assays, histology, cell culture. Statistical analysis and data presentation. Experience with manuscripts, conference presentations, and grant proposals. Physical Demands Sit or stand for extended periods. Lift more than 20 lbs. Opportunity to drive state or personal vehicle.
