Position Overview

Hopeful Hearts Psychiatry is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Edison, New Jersey. This full-time, onsite position is critically important for delivering exceptional mental health services within a school setting. This position is based in a modern mental health clinic located within a school, providing the ideal setting to support students facing mental health challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose mental health conditions in students.
• Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans that leverage evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of each child or adolescent.
• Prescribing, managing, and monitoring psychotropic medications, while adjusting dosages based on patient responses and symptomatology.
• Providing psychotherapy services, drawing from modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), to address the emotional and behavioral needs of students.
• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and school counselors, to ensure comprehensive care coordination for students.
• Educating students and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, coping strategies, and fostering resilience.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress in a clear and systematic manner, ensuring that treatment goals are met effectively.
• Conducting regular follow-up appointments to assess treatment outcomes, address questions, and make necessary adjustments in care.
• Participating in team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance clinical practices and improve overall patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is the mental health of students within the school system. You will work with a diverse student population that may include children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral issues. Your expertise will help nurture their emotional and psychological well-being, allowing them to thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New Jersey.
• Board certification in psychiatric mental health nursing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and staff.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within educational settings or with a pediatric/adolescent population.
• Familiarity with school-based mental health systems and community resources.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health records for documentation and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 200,000 to 250,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
