Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Seeking a knowledgeable Staff Pharmacist with IV Certification to provide per diem home infusion pharmacy services in the Birmingham, AL area. This opportunity involves supporting infusion pharmacy operations by ensuring safe and accurate preparation and dispensing of intravenous medications for home infusion patients. The role requires strong clinical pharmacy skills and experience with home infusion pharmaceutical services.

Location:

Birmingham, AL (coverage for infusion pharmacy per diem shifts)
Nearby areas including Bessemer, AL candidates are encouraged to apply

Schedule/Hours:

Per diem shifts available
Immediate coverage needed: Wednesday 9/2 through Friday 9/4
Shift times to be confirmed upon scheduling

Key Responsibilities:

Verify and dispense IV medications for home infusion patients
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards for preparation and dispensing
Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and medication therapy
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to home infusion pharmacy operations
Provide expert pharmaceutical guidance to patients and healthcare providers as needed

Qualifications:

Current licensure as a Pharmacist (State license required)
IV certification and experience in home infusion pharmacy required
Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures
Excellent attention to detail and patient safety focus
Effective communication and problem-solving skills

This per diem pharmacist position offers flexibility for those looking to support infusion pharmacy coverage on a short-term basis. Candidates comfortable with occasional travel within the Birmingham area are preferred.
