Accounting Assistant

Accounting Assistant Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid) $20-24/hr 36 hours/week Our client is a well-established nonprofit religious organization in Grand Rapids seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their team. Responsibilities * Perform weekly bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts * Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances and discrepancies * Manage reconciliations involving checks, ACH, cash activity, credit cards, and daily bank sweeps * Work within multiple entities and general ledgers * Assist with more complex credit card reconciliations * Pull documentation and create reports for upcoming audits * Support audit preparation activities during fiscal year-end * Follow established SOPs and written work instructions * Work within multiple banking platforms and accounting systems Qualifications Required * 1-2 years of accounting experience with a focus on reconciliations * Understanding of reconciliation processes and ability to investigate discrepancies independently * Strong Excel skills * Comfortable asking questions and problem-solving Preferred * Sage Intacct experience * Audit exposure or audit preparation experience * Google Workspace experience * Experience using AI tools to improve efficienci es and workflows Accounting Assistant Accounting Assistant Accounting Assistant Accounting Assistant Accounting Assistant Accounting Assistant Accounting Assistant
