Physical Therapist – Wellstar Cobb Hospital

The Physical Therapist assesses, plans, organizes, and participates in rehabilitative programs aimed at improving mobility, relieving pain, increasing strength, and preventing deformity for patients suffering from disease or injury. Services are delivered across the entire continuum of care with a focus on cost-efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role requires compliance with all relevant regulatory standards.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Treatment Planning and Provision of Care: Implement treatment plans, select appropriate activities, revise goals with input from patients and families, provide education and discharge instructions, and serve as a resource for staff and physicians.
• Patient Assessment: Collaborate with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, set goals, and develop discharge plans.
• Documentation: Record evaluations, treatment sessions, family education, discharge, and other necessary documentation according to departmental guidelines.
• Professional Practices: Uphold ethical standards, maintain patient confidentiality, demonstrate effective communication, and participate in staff meetings and professional development.
• Customer Service: Deliver compassionate care using AIDET principles, promote a positive environment, and foster teamwork.
• Professional Development: Complete required training, competencies, and certifications to maintain licensure; participate in orientation and system mandatory requirements.
• Additional duties as assigned in compliance with Wellstar Health System policies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physical Therapy (including Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy)
• License: Physical Therapist license and BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire
• Skills: Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills
• Experience: Minimum required skills include team-oriented attitude and effective communication skills

Shift:

• Day Shift (Monday through Friday), including two weekend days per month
