Equivity is seeking an experienced Probate Paralegal to support attorneys handling probate, estate administration, and related court matters.

This is an assignment-based opportunity designed for paralegals who value the flexibility of remote work and enjoy supporting a variety of law firms and matters across the country. As client needs evolve, assignments and workload may vary based on business demand. This role is a good fit for an experienced paralegal who values professional flexibility and is comfortable with a workload that can fluctuate rather than requiring a guaranteed number of weekly hours from the outset.

When actively supporting clients, responsiveness is important. Because client needs can arise on short notice, paralegals are expected to remain responsive to their active clients and Equivity managers within one hour during their stated availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare probate petitions, inventories, accountings, notices, and related court filings
• Assist with probate and estate administration matters from opening through completion
• Coordinate the collection and organization of estate assets, beneficiary information, and supporting documentation
• Prepare documents for attorney review and assist with court filing requirements
• Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, courts, financial institutions, and other third parties as needed
• Maintain organized electronic case files and track court dates, deadlines, and required follow-up
• Support trust administration matters when needed
• Work proactively with attorneys to help keep matters progressing efficiently

Compensation and Work Structure

• W-2 employment
• Compensation: $26 per hour
• Assignment-based work with client assignments determined by demand, qualifications, and availability
• Assignment volume and hours may vary
• Client assignments may take time to develop and are not guaranteed immediately upon joining

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent probate or estate administration paralegal experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Strong knowledge of probate procedures, court filings, deadlines, and estate administration processes
• Experience preparing probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related documents
• Available at least 20 hours/week during standard business hours (9:00 AM–6:00 PM)
• Strong organizational, written communication, and deadline-management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Windows-based computer preferred
