Job Summary

The Judge Group is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a leading healthcare organization in Ocala, FL . This position is based in an acute care hospital and inpatient rehabilitation setting , where the Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapy interventions designed to improve mobility, restore function, and promote independence.

The Physical Therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and physical therapist assistants, to ensure high-quality patient care and positive rehabilitation outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation and Assessment

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for inpatient rehabilitation patients.
• Assess strength, mobility, balance, coordination, functional status, and rehabilitation needs.
• Review physician orders, medical histories, diagnostic information, and treatment referrals.
• Establish measurable patient-centered goals and treatment objectives.

Treatment Planning and Care Delivery

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
• Adjust treatment plans as patient conditions evolve and progress is achieved.
• Provide therapeutic interventions including:
  • Therapeutic exercise
  • Gait training
  • Transfer training
  • Balance and mobility training
  • Manual therapy
  • Functional mobility activities
• Help patients maximize independence and achieve optimal functional outcomes.

Patient and Family Education

• Educate patients and caregivers on rehabilitation goals, mobility techniques, safety precautions, and home exercise programs.
• Provide recommendations for continued therapy services and discharge planning.

Documentation and Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Complete all charting within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, reimbursement, and professional practice standards.

Collaboration and Teamwork

• Work closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, care conferences, and discharge planning discussions.
• Provide supervision and direction to Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.

Patient Safety and Regulatory Compliance

• Maintain a safe treatment environment for patients and staff.
• Follow hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, The Joint Commission, and applicable state and federal healthcare regulations.
• Maintain current licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Current Florida Physical Therapist license or eligibility for Florida licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Knowledge of physical therapy principles, treatment techniques, and rehabilitation practices
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in:
