Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, communication, adaptive, and functional needs. You’ll design and deliver specialized instruction aligned to grade-level standards while ensuring individualized IEP goals are met within a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Endorsement (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in special education settings, particularly with students requiring academic, behavioral, or communication support
• Strong ability to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and monitor student progress
• Familiarity with structured teaching, visual supports, and sensory strategies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with aides, related service providers, and families
• Adaptable, patient, and responsive to a variety of student learning styles and needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver differentiated instruction in alignment with grade-level standards and IEP goals
• Employ structured teaching methods and integrate supportive strategies, such as visual schedules and sensory interventions
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment with proactive behavioral and social-emotional interventions
• Collaborate daily with program aides, 1:1 support staff, and related service providers
• Track and document student progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain accurate records
• Communicate effectively with families and support teams to ensure continuity and consistency in student support
