Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher for grades 1-2. This contract position focuses on cross-categorical instructional programming, serving a diverse group of students with unique academic, behavioral, communication, and adaptive needs. The classroom has a particular emphasis on supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, utilizing a variety of specialized strategies and interventions to foster growth and achievement.

In your daily work, you'll teach alongside a dedicated program aide and additional 1:1 support staff, ensuring that every child's IEP goals and grade-level standards are thoughtfully addressed. Collaboration with related service providers will be integral to your role as you help create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

Desired experience and qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Demonstrated experience working with elementary-age children, particularly those with autism or similar learning profiles.
• Knowledge of cross-categorical instructional methods and differentiated teaching strategies.
• Comfort developing and monitoring IEPs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with structured teaching techniques, visual supports, behavioral and social-emotional interventions, and adaptive communication tools.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted, individualized instruction that aligns with grade-level standards and specialized student goals.
• Use a wide range of supports (visual, behavioral, sensory, and communicative) to promote student engagement and success.
• Develop effective lesson plans and adapt materials as needed to meet diverse learning needs.
• Foster a collaborative and positive classroom climate among students, aides, and service providers.
• Continuously monitor student progress and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
