Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and assessments to document client cases from the initial consultation through to treatment completion.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being, using standardized assessment tools and clinical interviews.
\n
• Develop and implement tailored intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring alignment with best practices in mental health.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage expression and healing.
\n
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
\n
• Collaborate effectively with other mental health specialists, medical professionals, and community resources to deliver comprehensive client care.

• Maintain clear communication with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding the statuses of clients who may require hospitalization.

• Identify barriers to recovery and implement strategies to prevent behaviors that hinder progress.

• Support family members and caregivers in addressing mental and behavioral challenges through education and skill-building.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will work with a varied client base, including individuals from different cultural backgrounds facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and trauma. Our approach is client-centered, emphasizing trust, confidentiality, and respect, allowing clients to feel safe and supported as they work towards positive change.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW within the state of Texas.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong command of electronic health record systems, preferably with experience in AVATAR.
\n
• Proven understanding of various mental, emotional, and physical health conditions.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous practical experience as a mental health counselor in a clinical or community health setting.

• Familiarity with the standards of care established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Knowledge of psychotropic medications and their potential impact on counseling.
