Associate Director/Director, Business Development & Alliance Management

The Position: Associate Director/Director, Business Development & Alliance Management Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer & Chief Business Officer, the Associate Director/Director of Business Development & Alliance Management will be a critical leader driving our business development, partnering, and alliance management initiatives. This position is based on site in South San Francisco, California. Responsibilities Establish and maintain relationships with potential Pharma and BioPharma partners Actively seek out external partnering opportunities Assemble term sheets, deal structures, and legal contracts for potential out-licenses, research collaboration, and/or M&A transactions Coordinate all aspects of a deal process, including diligence, presentations, legal, etc. Serve as point-of-contact for any alliance management activities with a potential partner Qualifications We seek candidates that are team-oriented, collegial, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the following technical experiences: A minimum of 10 years of biotech/pharma business development, healthcare investment banking, and/or venture capital experience Robust deal sheet with multiple out-licensing and/or discovery collaboration transactions Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams as part of an alliance management functionProven ability to generate term sheets, deal structures, and negotiate financial and legal terms Strong grasp of precedent transaction analyses, wall street research, and financial modeling Familiarity with immunological disease areas and associated biology Strong communicator who can work effectively with C-suite and Board members This position requires a proactive work ethic and is suited for candidates who take initiative A degree in finance preferred (BS or MBA) Compensation The annual base pay range for this position is $185,400 –$235,000 and will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skills and competencies. The pay range reflects the Associate Director and Director levels, and the final title and compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
