Work Environment\n

The MHC will work remotely, collaborating closely with the team at our outpatient office while focusing on the unique challenges faced by individuals in correctional settings. You will engage in telehealth sessions to provide mental health assessments and treatment. This remote role allows for flexibility while ensuring effective collaboration and communication with correctional facilities to facilitate appropriate care for clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess the needs and risks of incarcerated individuals, including crisis intervention and follow-up care.

• Determine appropriate levels of care and coordinate the disposition of patients with the relevant correctional institutions.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and standards, including completion of required statistical reports.

• Collaborate effectively with the Department of Correction to ensure seamless access to care, appropriate housing, and treatment planning for patients.

• Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions tailored for different units, focusing on mental health stabilization and educational support.

• Engage in clinical supervision sessions weekly with a Clinical Supervisor to enhance professional development and integrate best practices in care delivery.

• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to review patient progress and treatment plans, contributing to holistic care approaches.

• May conduct psychological testing and assessment as directed, ensuring a comprehensive approach to treatment.
\n
• Provide mentorship and supervision to social work interns or student volunteers, fostering the development of future mental health professionals.

• Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisory staff, aiming to improve the quality of mental health services rendered.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client population consists of incarcerated individuals experiencing a range of mental health issues, including severe mental illnesses, behavioral problems, and substance use disorders. You will play an essential role in delivering tailored interventions, promoting recovery, and advocating for clients' needs within the correctional system.

Qualifications\n

• A valid state license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• At least three years of full-time, paid professional experience providing direct client care in a behavioral health setting post-licensure.

• Demonstrated expertise in crisis intervention and the ability to manage various clinical situations effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Five years or more of full-time, paid experience in mental health counseling, particularly within correctional health services or similar environments.

• Experience with conducting assessments and providing treatment plans for individuals with behavioral health challenges and substance use histories.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Sabella Psychiatric Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
