Bilingual Italian Scientist for AI Safety

Role Overview

Use your scientific expertise and Italian language skills to help improve the safety of advanced AI systems handling specialized technical topics. You will evaluate and strengthen model responses in Italian, with training provided for the workflow, so prior AI or machine learning experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop expert-level Italian prompts across specialized scientific subjects.
• Assess and annotate AI responses for scientific accuracy, usefulness, and appropriate treatment of sensitive material.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Help improve how AI models address specialized scientific topics in Italian.

Qualifications

• Current or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field.
• Scientific depth sufficient to create prompts involving chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear topics.
• Native or near-native Italian fluency and business-level written English.
• Strong familiarity with current laboratory and computational methods in your specialty.
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

Preferred Background

• Based in Italy or elsewhere in Western Europe, though applicants located outside the region are welcome.
• Chemistry-based radiological or nuclear expertise, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
• Deep specialization in an area such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics.
• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-material handling.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.

Work Terms

• Remote hourly engagement.
• Immediate start.

Compensation

• 50 to 54 per hour.
