Work Environment

The position is based onsite at our outpatient office in Woodbridge, VA, where you will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to patient rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities

As an Outpatient Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Directing and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, relieving pain, and enhancing muscle function based on client assessments and physician recommendations.
• Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure that the treatment plans are executed accurately and effectively.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of clients' functional capabilities through tests of muscle, nerve, and joint abilities to develop targeted rehabilitation strategies.
• Assessing home environments for modifications that can boost clients' independence and provide recommendations tailored to their unique situations.
• Administering therapeutic exercises and physical agent modalities, such as traction and massage, while also instructing clients and their families in performing exercises independently.
• Fitting, adjusting, and evaluating prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring modifications are communicated to the supervising physician.
• Maintaining thorough clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, according to regulatory standards.
• Participating in the creation, review, and revision of care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, ensuring a holistic approach to client rehabilitation.
• Advising clients and their families on therapy practices and the use of any assistive devices.
• Staying accessible to the Physical Therapy Assistant during sessions to provide guidance and support as necessary.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with diverse outpatient clients, including individuals recovering from surgery, those with chronic conditions, and patients requiring rehabilitative support after injury. Your expertise will be crucial in creating tailored care plans that address each client's specific conditions and help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A current physical therapy licensure in good standing within the state of Virginia.
• A valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
• Current CPR certification.
• A passion for patient care, clinical excellence, and a commitment to professional growth and development.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage actively with patients, families, and team members.

Preferred Experience

While at least one year of experience as a physical therapist in an acute care or home care setting is required, preference will be given to candidates with a background in outpatient therapy. Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, as well as comprehensive benefits, including healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
