Premier Health PA Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) to join our healthcare team in Poughkeepsie, New York. This full-time position is based onsite within a well-established hospital facility in Poughkeepsie, NY. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and meticulously review patient histories to provide accurate assessments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and imaging studies, critically analyzing the results to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and manage a diverse range of health conditions, administering effective treatments within the scope of family medicine.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients with chronic illnesses as well as infectious diseases, ensuring follow-up care and adjustments as needed.
• Prescribe necessary medications while continuously monitoring response and side effects, adjusting treatments to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain organized and precise patient records, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Educate patients and their families on disease management, preventive care practices, and health maintenance to empower informed healthcare decisions.
• Promote healthy lifestyle habits within the patient population, through counseling and community outreach initiatives.
• Engage with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate care plans and ensure continuity across various stages of treatment.
• Participate in daily rounds alongside physicians and other healthcare providers, fostering collaboration and communication in patient care.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field is required.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is essential.
• State licensure as a Physician Assistant is required to practice in New York.
• Thorough understanding of regulatory standards and healthcare practices related to patient care.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective and compassionate interaction with patients and families.
• Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across departments to achieve optimal patient care.
• Ability to manage diverse patient needs with patience and empathy.
• DEA certification is required for prescribing medications.

Preferred Experience

• Proven experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly in a family medicine or primary care setting.

• Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with healthcare technology.

Compensation and Benefits

In recognition of your skills and expertise, we offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 120,000 to 130,000 annually, based on experience.
