Facilities Manager

Facilities Manager – USC School of Architecture A full‑time permanent position located on the University Park Campus. This is a hybrid position with a 4‑day on‑site requirement and one day of work from home, depending on workflow. The Facilities Manager reports to the Associate Dean of Finance and works closely with the Dean and school leadership. Responsibilities Supervise employees and student workers, schedule, assign, and prioritize workloads, set deadlines, and monitor performance. Coordinate with university departments, external contractors, and vendors for facilities operations, maintenance, and construction/renovation projects. Develop, administer, and monitor the annual operating budget for facilities, authorizing and tracking expenses for utilities, materials, supplies, repairs, and project work. Prepare long‑ and short‑range plans for facility use, maintain space and equipment analysis, and allocate usage based on departmental priorities. Work with Student Services and faculty on classroom scheduling and space allocation for studios, lectures, and guest speakers. Develop and implement deferred maintenance and preventative maintenance programs. Manage environmental health and safety programs: conduct safety inspections, determine remedial actions, provide equipment, and maintain compliance records. Conduct periodic security surveys, resolve security concerns, and establish procedures for facility access, including key issuance and record maintenance. Inspect equipment, coordinate required repairs or purchases, and maintain equipment records. Maintain broad knowledge of space planning, classroom support, learning spaces, technology projects, and alignment of technology/infrastructure with capital investment priorities. Coordinate and monitor construction and renovation projects, providing cost and status reports. Develop and implement security‑related procedures such as office opening/closing routines, key controls, and coordination with the university Public Safety Department. Serve as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and mandatory reporter under the Clery Act, receiving and reporting crime incidents as required.
