Work Environment\n

In this remote role based in Buffalo, New York, you will have the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions either in home settings or at our outpatient office. You will also have the support of a collaborative Child Family Treatment Team, allowing for a comprehensive approach to care. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, implementing evidence-based practices tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans that aim to enhance coping mechanisms and social skills, while effectively addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to strengthen decision-making skills among caregivers, supporting them in managing behavioral challenges at home.

• Collaborate consistently with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers and educational professionals, to ensure a comprehensive treatment approach.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment activities, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes to comply with regulatory requirements.

• Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss progress and provide recommendations for ongoing support initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on children aged 3-20 who are grappling with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will engage with families from diverse backgrounds, facilitating culturally sensitive therapeutic services. Our ideal candidate is someone who is bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese, enhancing our ability to serve a wider array of families in need.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) credential is mandatory.

• The successful candidate must be available to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) to accommodate our young clients.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for conducting home visits.

• Completion of a comprehensive criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a precondition for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience providing positive behavior support strategies and interventions.

• Previous work experience with children and adolescents, particularly those facing challenges related to developmental and intellectual disabilities, is strongly desired.

Compensation and Benefits\n
