Work Environment\n

This role operates remotely, offering the flexibility to conduct therapy sessions from your location while collaborating with a dedicated team of mental health professionals. Our work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with opportunities for occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations that address unique geriatric concerns, such as cognitive decline and social isolation.

• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate a patient-centered approach, focusing specifically on the challenges faced by older adults.

• Utilize evidence-based interventions to facilitate individual and family therapy addressing specific psychiatric conditions prevalent among the elderly.

• Collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals, promoting integrated care strategies that enhance treatment efficacy.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and ongoing support during critical mental health situations for elderly patients.

• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources, fostering better understanding and compliance.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and legal requirements.

• Engage in regular team meetings and professional development sessions, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our target clientele primarily consists of elderly individuals grappling with various mental health issues, including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, cognitive impairments, and adjustment disorders. Providing empathetic support to this demographic requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand the nuances of geriatric mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, specifically working with geriatric populations, is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits\n
