Work Environment\n

This position operates in a fully remote environment, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance. As part of the Jail Mental Health Team, you will interact with a diverse clientele in a school-based mental health setting. You will work closely with educators, psychologists, and other social workers to provide a comprehensive approach to mental health care. The job involves occasional required evening shifts, rotating weekends, and on-call availability to ensure mental health services are continuously accessible.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for students, integrating personal history, presenting issues, and potential crisis factors to inform your treatment approach.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in cooperation with students, focusing on emotional well-being and effective coping strategies.

• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, employing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care to effectively address various mental health concerns.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, promoting personal development and emotional regulation among students.
\n
• Collaborate with other mental health professionals to coordinate care, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach to treatment goals.

• Provide urgent crisis intervention as needed, utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage mental health emergencies while ensuring appropriate referrals are made.

• Educate students and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources, empowering them with knowledge and skills.

• Maintain meticulous documentation related to assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and staff development activities to enhance your skills and foster team collaboration.

• Stay informed regarding applicable laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines that govern mental health practice within educational settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary clients will be students within the school system who may face mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and behavioral issues. You will work to build relationships with these students, understanding their unique experiences and providing tailored support that can help facilitate academic success and emotional resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution is required.

• A current and valid LICSW licensure in the state of Washington.

• At least two years of post-licensure experience in a mental health environment, preferably within school or correctional health settings.

• A solid understanding of prevalent mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment strategies, and trauma-informed care approaches.

• Proficiency in conducting mental health evaluations and formulating comprehensive treatment plans.

• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to effective outcomes.

• Exceptional crisis intervention skills with a calm demeanor for high-pressure situations.

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to build rapport with a diverse population.

Compensation and Benefits\n

This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
