Job Title Physician – Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Genitourinary (GU) (Open Rank/Track Faculty) Department The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek Genitourinary Oncologist to join Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Position Overview Physician specializing in Genitourinary to serve as a member of the Division of Medical Oncology, within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; performs relevant oncology procedures; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate & graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals in the specialty of oncology; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities. Perform physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs. Perform relevant oncology procedures. Order special procedures, diagnostic testing, and ancillary services. Respond to consultation requests. Determine, prescribe and implement treatment plans and/or medications. Document all services and instructions in medical records. Educate patients and promote wellness, prevention and early detection. Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities. Serve as preceptor and provide bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, and other allied professionals. Ensure continuing medical education requirements are met. Participate in departmental, college, medical center and university committees. Qualifications Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Completion of accredited Oncology/Hematology Fellowship. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible or certified in Medical Oncology, or able to meet medical licensure requirements in Ohio.
