We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger, beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:General AccountingPrepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely month-end and year-end close.Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, operating budgets, audits, grant reporting, and the maintenance of internal controls in accordance with GAAP, grant requirements, and YMCA policies.Monitor grants and restricted funding, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.Crosstrain with accounting staff to support operationsAccounts Receivable & Participant AccountingManage participant accounts receivable, including account adjustments, scholarships, withdrawals, payment plans, collections, write-offs, and third-party funding reconciliation in accordance with YMCA policies.Coordinate with Child Development leadership, Program Directors, ELRC, and other funding agencies to ensure accurate participant billing, reporting, funding eligibility, and account maintenance.Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)Administer following CACFP requirements, participant eligibility tracking, monthly reporting, reimbursement processing, and audit preparation.Payroll AdministrationServe as backup payroll administrator by reviewing timecards, processing approved payroll changes, coordinating updates with Human Resources, and assisting with payroll compliance and reporting.Program & Administrative SupportSupport Child Development financial operations by assisting with records, participant account maintenance, financial inquiries, and other program support activities.Collaborate Human Resources, Child Development, and other departments to ensure accurate financial records, efficient workflows, and consistent organizational practices.Maintain strict confidentiality of financial, payroll, employee, and participant information.Cross-train within the Finance Department to ensure continuity of operations and provide support as needed.Perform other accounting, financial, and administrative duties and special projects as assigned.LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:Critical Thinking & Decision MakingFiscal ManagementProgram/Project ManagementQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor 's degree in accounting/related field preferred, and experience of a minimum of 2 years in an accounting role.Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functionsKnowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems and sound working knowledge of Microsoft office suiteEfficient problem-solving skillsDeadline-OrientedMust be highly organized, resourceful, and can work with confidential mattersWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
