Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders to inform effective treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans by leveraging evidence-based practices tailored to the unique circumstances of each patient.

• Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring regular assessment of their effectiveness and making dosage adjustments as necessary.

• Provide psychotherapy and counseling services, employing modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) to address patient needs.

• Collaborate with a team of mental health professionals to coordinate patient care and facilitate holistic treatment approaches.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote informed decision-making.

• Document patient progress meticulously, tracking responses to treatment, symptom changes, and outcomes to ensure continuity of care.

• Conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor treatment effectiveness and address any patient concerns or needs for adjustments in their care plan.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will be on a diverse patient population experiencing varying mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and complex psychiatric disorders. By utilizing house calls, you can engage deeply with patients in their own environments, thereby enhancing rapport and trust.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates are required to possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

• A current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York, with a specialty in Psychiatric Mental Health.

• Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from a nationally recognized board.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, preferences include:

• Previous experience in a mental health clinic or similar setting, particularly in providing outpatient care.

• Strong skills in therapeutic techniques and an understanding of psychotropic medication management.

• Experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Compensation and Benefits
