Application Window Open date : March 19, 2025 Most recent review date : Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Final date : Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time) Position Description The Bioengineering department in the School of Engineering anticipates hiring full- and part-time lecturers to teach the following courses for Academic Year 2025‑2026: BIOE 021: Introduction to Computing with Python BIOE 106: Cell Biology and Physiology BIOE 115: Biomechanics BIOE 130: Biothermodynamics BIOE 140: Biomolecular Engineering BIOE 145: Bioprocess Engineering Other courses as needed In addition to teaching, responsibilities include creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (minimum 2 hours per week), grading examinations and/or papers, and may include holding discussion sections or supervising a graduate student teaching assistant or reader. Appointments are limited-term under the Lecturers Unit agreement between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Qualifications Advanced degree in Computer Science & Engineering or a related field. Experience teaching at the college or university level. Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, with broad experience working with students of diverse abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
