Key Responsibilities\n

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough and respectful trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ histories and determine suitable treatment modalities.

• Crafting and implementing tailored treatment plans aimed at promoting trauma recovery and enhancing patients’ coping strategies.
\n
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.

• Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions to assist patients in processing their trauma and developing essential life skills.
\n
• Collaborating with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams to guarantee cohesive care for patients, addressing both therapeutic and medical needs.

• Providing crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies to ensure patients’ immediate safety and stabilization.
\n
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to foster understanding and empowerment.

• Maintaining accurate, confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards to secure patient privacy.

• Engaging in case consultations and team meetings to enhance collaborative practices and stay informed about ongoing developments in trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Turning Leaf, your primary focus will be on individuals affected by various forms of trauma. This includes survivors of abuse, individuals suffering from PTSD, and patients dealing with complex emotional and psychological challenges stemming from traumatic experiences. You will play a critical role in helping these individuals reclaim their lives, fostering resilience and hope through specialized therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Pennsylvania.
\n
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in providing mental health counseling is required.
\n
• Strong knowledge and understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, underpinned by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions, especially tailored to adolescents and adults.

Compensation and Benefits\n
