Sr. Sales Manager

Job Overview Senior Sales Manager – Leadership-Focused (Charlotte, Lower South End). Acts as the second‑in‑command to the Director of Sales & Marketing, leading the sales team while driving top‑line revenue and ensuring disciplined execution of the hotel’s sales strategy. Leadership Expectations Acts as the primary support to the DOSM and leads the department in their absence, ensuring continuity in strategy, communication, and execution. Sets the standard for performance, professionalism, and urgency; holds self and peers accountable to revenue goals, response times, and conversion metrics. Provides coaching and development to Sales Managers and Coordinators; leads by doing, not directing. Contributes to and executes the hotel’s commercial strategy, including segment focus, pricing positioning, and account deployment. Proactively drives top‑line revenue through direct sales efforts across assigned segments and leads strategic account management. Collaborates closely with Operations, Catering, and Revenue teams to ensure seamless execution of booked business. Conducts ongoing competitive analysis and market intelligence to inform selling strategies and positioning. Professional Expectations Demonstrates strong executive presence, communication, and negotiation skills; operates with urgency, accountability, and ownership of results. Maintains high organization, attention to detail, and follow‑through. Visible and actively selling; this role is producing leadership, not desk‑based. Key Qualifications Minimum 2 years of hotel‑related sales experience (Catering preferred). Preferred 1 year of sales experience in a 4‑Diamond hotel with 8,000+ sq ft of function space. Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritization. Basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Delphi FDC, Opera PMS, and other CRM systems. Valid driver’s license; able to lift up to 25 pounds. High school degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Fluent English; other languages beneficial.
